Summer Learning Journey Week One/Day Four Activity 3

Activity 3 Salt and Pepper (5 points, 5 Bonus For Hotel Room (10 Points)Success Criteria: On your blog tell us where you would build your hotel and what you would use to build it. For an extra five points, use Google Drawings to design one room in your hotel. You can also use a paper and pencil to draw your room, take a picture of the drawing, and post it on your blog.

If I had to build a hotel I would build it on the beach of the Gold Coast Australia . To build my hotel I would use concrete slabs for the walls and paint them different colours or put wallpapers on them. I would have some type of steel for my hotel that doesn’t rust from the ocean sea spray. For the roof I would build it with iron  steel primed and painted. I would also use cranes for lifting things to the hotel and diggers and trucks for carrying concrete over to the hotel.

  1. Hi Jennae Hannah here,
I enjoyed reading your idea on how you would build a hotel. For some reason it made me think of the beach front hotel in Hokitika. There are a few spelling mistakes in there like "spray" and there was one bit that said I to build... and so on, that just needs fixing. What are you doing this holidays?

  2. Hello Jennae,

First of all, what a great layout of the hotel room you have created! I love how you have chosen to paint the walls different colours, I think the people who stay at your hotel would wake up very cheerful every morning, I know I would! I've never been to the Gold Coast before but I've heard wonderful things about the place and have seen some amazing photos so I would definitely love to stay at your hotel for a few days or even weeks! Have you been to the Gold Coast before?

That's very clever of you to have thought about having steel that doesn't rust, you really know your materials well! I cab tell that you have spent quite some time thinking about all the details to include in your hotel room, I'm impressed. The couch looks super comfy! I love it when couches fit in the corner of homes. What would your hotel be called?

    Best,
    Evelyn :)
