I chose the two plants called the venus flytrap and the pitcher plant.
Simlarities
1)The venus flytrap consumes flies and the pitcher plant can consume mice so they both
consume something.
2) Both of these two plants are carnivorous. That means both of the plants eats small insects
and animals as food.
3) They are both very hard to find and really rare.

Differences
1) A difference is that the venus flytrap catch their prey by closing their lobes when a insect
comes in contact with the plant then opens and sucks it in. The pitcher plant has this special
type of fluid inside of it that attracts their prey.
2) Both of these plants looks very different. The pitcher plant looks like a sack hanging from a
stem and the venus fly trap looks like a noxious weed that has a comb on the end.
3)The venus flytrap is safe to your pets and the pitcher plant can cause harm to your pets.

Hi Jennae
ReplyDeleteYou have done a really good job with this activity. And you have posted the image of both plants so that we can see just what you are talking about.
I love the venus flytrap! I can remember when I was younger we used to sit and poke things into it just so that it would close. Ah!! The things we do.
Wow! I am just trying to imagine a plant eating a small mouse, that would be incredible to watch. I really like how you describe the venus flytrap as a noxious weed with combs on the ends! Great Description.
Great work with this activity and you have earned the extra points so well done.
Until next time
Allie :)
