Dear Mum,
thank you for sending me on this trip it is a new experience
so far. I never knew what it felt like to be in place so dry and
empty but now I do. When I was staying there it sort of felt and sounded
like what a desert would. It was very cold, although at night it was warmer
for some reason. Once again mum, I am really enjoying this new experience

I love that you have chosen to write to your mum, I think I would have chosen to write to my mum too. You have also started the letter by thanking her, that's very kind and sweet of you, I think she would be very happy to hear!
You've done a good job of describing the place and your experience, I almost feel like I've been there before and experienced the tundra myself. Have you ever been to a desert before? I have never but I think it would be a new and interesting experience. The tundra really is a cold place... Do you think you would like to go and visit it? I've never been in actual snow before so I wouldn't know if I could take the cold weather there! I think it would be pretty cool to visit the tundra though.
