Week One, Day Three

Activity 1 Fantastic Beasts (4 points)

Success Criteria: On your blog, post a description of your beast. Use interesting adjectives
(describing words) to tell us about your beast.

One beautiful christmas morning a tall obese giant awoken. His big feet stormed through the small town of Greymouth. His heavy feet woke every little child that was asleep, but only the children. Children run to their christmas tree thinking it was the real santa. Then suddenly a scary big footed monster had stormed in. “Santa?” asked a little child. It wasn’t santa it was a fake one with a disgusting green suit with a deep blood red hat. Boom!
The door had been opened, little elfs like sidekicks appeared. The tall obese giant with a big black sack hanging over its shoulder had snuck to the vibrant christmas tree taking all the gifts, leaving nothing behind. “Ha Ha Ha!” The giants deep voice echoed through the house as he went through the door. “No more Christmas, I’m going to stop this once and for all!” whispered the scary giant.

Activity 3 Weird and Wonderful ( 10 Points)

Success Criteria:

On your blog, tell us how to solve this maths problem. You can write your answer in words, use a Sketchpad image, or post a video explaining how you would figure it out. Be sure to give us your final answer in millilitres (ml). Let’s imagine that you are given a cactus for your birthday. To keep it alive, you must give it 3 ml of water every day. Over one full year, how much water will you need to give your cactus plant?

Activity 2 Fabulous Ferns (4 points)

Success Criteria:

On your blog list three sports teams that have the word ‘fern’ in their title. Beside each team’s name, post a picture of their uniform. Then, at the bottom of your blog post tell us which of the three uniforms you like best and why.

Three sport teams that have the word fern in their name is the NZ netball team Silver Ferns, the women cricket team called the White Ferns and the Tall Ferns which are the NZ women basketball team.

The uniform I like the best is the White Ferns uniform. I like this uniform the best because they have this cool background of their shirts with black and kind of fading into a dark blue. I also like their uniform the most because some other New Zealand uniforms have not covered the space in their uniforms even though the White Ferns have a blank space on the bottom of their uniforms it has the faded blue which does seem to fill in the space.

Activity 1 Giant Among Us (4 points)

Success Criteria:

On your blog, tell us whether you would like to go and visit Tāne Mahuta one day.
Be sure to tell us why you do (or do not) want to visit this endemic tree.

Hello I am Jennae, age 11 or a year 7 girl at Karoro School. I have heard stories about this humongous
tree here living in New Zealand. I would actually like to go and visit the Tāne Mahuta tree one day.
It would be awesome to actually see the tallest tree right here in NZ and to find more about it.
If I could stand  next to this tree 51.2 meter high and the 13 meter wide tree it would be so cool.
I would like to see it before the tree dies from getting a disease called the fatal dieback disease
and dies within a year.

North and South

Success Criteria:

Activity 2- North and South (4 points)

Kia Ora I am Jennae I live in a micro town called Greymouth.

I am going to tell you some things that are special to Greymouth.

One special thing about our hometown Greymouth, is that it is  the

largest West Coast region in the South Island of New Zealand. Greymouth

is not just a very quiet place it actually has many bustly groups of tourists that

come here for attractions. A special thing to all the families that were involved

with the Pike River Mine disaster, recently volunteers decided to build a track

called the Pike 29. The Greymouth river(Grey River) flows roughly through

the Cobden tiphead and the  Blaketown tiphead with a wall up the Blaketown side.
